Sink care made easy

The easy-to-clean surfaces by BLANCO

We may enjoy cooking, but that doesn’t mean we also enjoy spending hours cleaning up afterwards.

Today’s modern brand sinks made of stainless steel, Silgranit or ceramic not only have extremely practical functions in contemporary designs, but are also very easy to clean.

It is important to know that dirt or staining particles e.g. of juice, tea and coffee are not usually deposited on the sink, but instead bind with the scale that the water leaves on the surface. Depending on the hardness of the water, this process will soon leave an unsightly mark. “That is why it is advisable to protect all sink materials against dirt and limescale deposits, i.e. to wipe them down with a wet cloth and a little washing up liquid and then dry them.

And when it comes to the worst, there is a variety of special cleaning and care products, specially tailored to the various sink materials to restore sinks to their former glory.

The sink should always be wiped dry with a soft cloth after every use so limescale isn't even given a chance to settle on the surface.

"Blancopolish" is recommended for intensive cleaning and to refresh the surface. It removes minor signs of wear with ease, and helps to prevent fingerprints and new dirt. Water simply rolls off. And it leaves the sink looking wonderfully shiny.

Please note: many of the materials that are used in the kitchen are harder than stainless steel (e.g. porcelain, ceramic knives etc.). It is in the nature of these materials to leave signs of use.

Frequently asked questions

Sinks made of SILGRANIT

SILGRANIT, the granite-based composite material developed by BLANCO, contains water- and dirt-repellent substances that are brought up to the surface every time the sink is cleaned.

This provides permanent protection against limescale and stains for maximum ease of care.

Usually a damp cloth is all that is required for your sink to stay clean and lovely.

More stubborn marks can be removed in moments with a damp sponge.

However, any limescale or dirt deposits that do form can easily be removed using BLANCOACTIV, any standard commercial washing detergent, acetic acid or household cleaning product with active oxygen.

Many of our sinks are also available with PuraPlus, the additional special seal. “PuraPlus” has a water-repelling effect that reduces the ability of residues such as limescales and stains to adhere to the surface. Water and a little washing-up liquid are all that is required for cleaning. Then simply shower off, and dry with a microfibre cloth.
