The virtual Panorama Tour of Google Street View makes Blanco the first industrial company in Germany to offer Internet users all over the world an insight into its head office in this way. Germany's biggest sink manufacturer and the world's leading provider of sinks, mixer taps and accessories recently had a large number of 360-degree panoramic shots taken for the digital "Google Business Photos" service. The images are already linked to Google Maps and Google Earth, and can be called up on Blanco's website at www.blanco-germany.com/streetview.
Achim Schreiber, Chairman of the Blanco's Executive Board is extremely impressed by the virtual tour: "The Blanco brand stands for innovative products, and follows a discerning design philosophy. This includes new communication platforms, which are an interesting way for us to share our messages with others. We are pleased to open the doors for an exciting project like Google Business Photos."
The shots for this service, which is still new in Germany, are the work of photographers who are licensed and certified by Google. Josh van Staudach was on-site for Blanco. The virtual tour shows the manufacturer's display forum, where the company's latest sink and mixer tap creations plus new waste systems are on display, and moves on, as an example, to one of the main conference rooms in the building where fundamental decisions are made e.g. for the marketing of new products. Another sequence shows the portraits of company founder Heinrich Blanc and his wife. The virtual tour concludes literally and metaphorically with a time span that reaches from the early days all the way into the future. In order to protect privacy, no members of staff can be identified in any other images.
But Blanco does, for the first time, offer Internet users the world over a look into the internal communications centre that is used for events and training with retail partners, kitchen planners and fitters. There are also regular international meetings with customer groups and kitchen planners in the so-called Forum. The ambience also reflects the manufacturer's high design competence, and is greatly appreciated by visitors.
Stefan Kohl, Director of Corporate Communications at Blanco, adds: "Google Business Photos enable us to give an authentic insight into the company. However, despite all the professionalism and commitment of a leading international company, for us as the staff, a day is more than numbers, details and facts – as is confirmed by our built-in visual surprises." More 360-degree panoramic tours are already being planned.
