Blancoculina-S proves that mixer taps can be truly attractive in the kitchen. Only recently launched on the market, this model from Blanco’s exclusive SteelArt programme has now received the iF product design award for 2012. With its elegant design language and functionality, it meets the highest standards for quality, user comfort and design.
However, this is not the first award for this innovative mixer tap, which is particularly effective in semi-professional kitchen environments. Blancoculina-S has also received the highly coveted red dot design award 2011 as well as two awards from renowned American design magazines, the KBCulture Award and the IDEA (International Design Excellence Award). Head of design Brigitte Ziemann: “Once again we have managed to add a very special accent in the broadly occupied market of mixer taps. Blancoculina-S is the most irresistible combination of elegant looks, innovative functionality and trend-setting quality.” The most recent iF product design award 2012 again confirms the high design competence of this leading sink manufacturer and German market leader for mixer taps.
Designed by the company’s own design team, Blancoculina-S wins points with its clever details, such as the spout holder. A magnet instantly releases the shower – and secures it again just as quickly when it is no longer required. The spray changes readily at the touch of a button from normal to shower, as required. The mixer tap with the flexible, bending spout rotates 360° around the tall, cylindrical body to offer maximum user comfort even in the vertical. The spray can easily be pulled far down into the bowl for splash-free working. Blancoculina-S is available in the finishes chrome and stainless steel, and harmonises perfectly with all of the kitchen technology specialist’s high quality bowl programmes and inset sinks – whether in colour or stainless steel.
Info on the iF award
Since 1953, the iF award has been presented annually in various categories by the International Forum Design, Hanover – initially under the name “Special exhibition of well-designed industrial products”. Both manufacturers and consumers consider the iF awards, which are chosen by an international panel of experts, to be reliable proof of outstanding design coupled with superior material quality and workmanship, and particularly well thought-out user friendliness. This year, more than 4300 contributions have been submitted by over 1600 participants from 48 countries for the iF design award in four categories.
