Blanco has achieved record sales for the 2012 business year. The sink and mixer tap specialist increased its turnover by €22 million to €274 million, equating to an 8.9% increase on the previous year’s consolidated net sales. At this year’s press conference, Chairman of the Executive Board Achim Schreiber emphasised that Blanco was able to gain market shares both on the domestic market in Germany and abroad.
At home, Germany’s leading sink manufacturer achieved 7.8% growth to €105 million, a much better result than the market average. The company’s growth in international business activities was even better, in spite of the often challenging market situation: here, the company increased its sales by 9.6% to €65 million. The foreign share is 62%.
The number of employees increased to 1250 worldwide. In order to further strengthen its international competitiveness, last year Blanco invested €11.5 million in new production facilities and methods, especially in Germany, and in optimising its processes.
The new year also got off to a dynamic start for Blanco. However, the market environment remains extremely difficult, especially in Europe, said Achim Schreiber.
The premium manufacturer with a comprehensive product portfolio on everything to do with sinks continues to hold the leading position. Its attributes include quality and innovation, sophisticated design and multifunctionality. Its high standards of quality apply to every single process in the company, from development to logistics and customer services. “What counts is the overall package that we offer our customers,” Achim Schreiber explains the significant increase in growth in the last business year. One significant factor in the company’s success has been the strategic concentration on the most frequently used area in the kitchen – the sink, mixer tap and waste system.
BLANCO is based in Oberderdingen in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, and is one of the world’s leading providers of high quality sinks and mixer taps for domestic kitchens. The comprehensive range of Germany’s biggest sink manufacturer also includes various practical waste systems and matching accessories for the sink. The BLANCO Group employs a total of 1250 people, 960 in Germany and 290 abroad. The group includes numerous subsidiaries both at home and abroad, and especially in Europe, North America and Asia.
