Inspired by the professionals in the catering industry, ultra-keen amateur chefs greatly appreciate having functionally designed mixer taps with an exclusive silhouette and flexible spout. The latest development by Blanco goes one step further, and opts for sensor technology for maximum user comfort. Blanco Solenta-S Senso is the name of this innovation in the programme of Germany's market leader for mixer taps. A casual movement of the hand under the shower arm is all it takes for the integrated sensor to start or stop the water spray – with absolutely no contact at all. This means the hands are always free, for instance to fill a large spaghetti saucepan or just run a glass of water.
The contactless start-stop function is perfectly matched to the various user habits and cooking scenarios. "One particular feature of the Solenta-S Senso is that the gap between the sensor and the bowl is defined perfectly, making operation very user-friendly on the one hand, and on the other also preventing unintentional activation," explains product manager Johann Zindler. This means that the sensor integrated in the shower arm is sensitive in close detection up to a gap of six centimetres – and it turns with the mixer tap, which makes it a 'novelty in this mixer tap class'," adds Zindler.
In addition to its innovative sensor technology, Solenta-S also appeals for the discerning, modern design and careful choice of materials. The flexible shower hose is covered in exclusive stainless steel, offers a generous working radius, and attaches precisely to the shower holder by means of a magnet. Furthermore, Solenta-S Senso also has a practical dual-jet spray with change-over function from pearl to spray. The control lever on the side is attached high up the cylindrical body of the mixer tap, which makes it particularly ergonomic. Solenta-S Senso is available in two finishes to achieve the perfect match with the kitchen ambience. It is available in chrome and stainless steel finish UltraResist. The new surface is especially easy to clean, scratchproof, and much less sensitive to fingerprints than chrome.
The new mixer tap is a genuine all-rounder: in addition to the Sensor option, it can also be operated manually. It's really easy: when the control lever is in the initial position, all of the functions, from water flow to quantity and temperature, can be controlled manually. Everything else happens without contact once it is opened and the sensor has been activated by a hand movement – indicated by a blue light signal on the top of the shower holder. And if anyone forgets to stop the water flow, the integrated switch-off function does so automatically after 90 seconds.
In order to provide the maximum possible flexibility when planning a kitchen, Solenta-S Senso is available with the control lever on the left or right. If, for instance, the bowl is to the right of the mixer tap, Blanco recommends fitting the version with the lever on the left.
