Welcome to week three of laundry room reveals! Inspired by the launch of our BLANCO LIVEN™ laundry sink, we recently challenged four bloggers to think #BeyondTheKitchen and participate in a 30 day laundry room makeover complete with a LIVEN sink and ARTONA™ faucet! Each of our four bloggers completed the challenge by producing new envy-worthy laundry room designs. In this week’s reveal, see how Katie Cleveland of Addicted2DIY.com transformed her laundry room into a modern farmhouse-inspired space.
Q: What is your favorite part of your new laundry room?
My favorite part was definitely seeing the stark difference in the transformation between the cluttered, dysfunctional laundry room to the new, more open design. We now have a place to store our vacuum cleaner, a place to hang clothes and a place to fold laundry – all in one small room.
Q: Was it challenging to complete this remodel in only 30 days?
It was a little challenging, but mostly because of the amount of work we did. We built completely new cabinets and redesigned the entire space.
Q: What was the inspiration behind your design?
I love the modern farmhouse look so I wanted the look of the laundry room to reflect that vision. To achieve this look, I incorporated bright white cabinets with contrasting wood tones, dark hardware, and an anthracite BLANCO sink to complete the design.
Q: What tips do you have for anyone thinking of completing a laundry room remodel?
Spend some time really thinking about not only the style of the space but also what you want to gain from the project. Do you want to completely redesign your space? Do you need a little more counter space? Or just simply a new look. For us, it was all of the above. We wanted cabinets that were more functional, a place to hang clothes to dry, and a fresh look that reflected the style of our home. Identify what you don’t like about your laundry room then start brainstorming ideas to improve your space.
